Route for the day, Manchester to Dover with a stop for lunch at AstraZeneca un Cambridge
In route from Manchester to Dover I stopped for lunch with AstraZeneca colleagues in Cambridge at the Darwin building. It was so nice to be able to say bye in person to many people in Cambridge that have supported me throughout my PostDoc time and for those I couldn't see in person thanks again and I hope we will cross paths again!
Next I drove to Dover where I would be taking the ferry to Calais the following day. In fact I stayed in a town next to Dover called Capel-le-ferne with a lovely couple of motorbikers I met through Couchsurfing. Kai is an English guy and Lisa is a Swedish girl and together they are like AstraZeneca, another successful Anglo-Swedish union. Both of them are big Triumph motorcycle fans so I knew we would get along well and Lisa took me for dinner to a fantastic Chinese all you can eat buffet. I am not sure what was the best between the amazing bike ride through the winding roads to get to the buffet or the delicious food served there. Afterwards we had an amazing evening exchanging stories with a glass or two of Kai's special whiskey that they got from a motorbike trip in Scotland.

My hosts for the day, Kai and Lisa with our 3 Triumph motorbikes.
The next morning as I set off to catch the ferry they drive with me to the port and we said goodbye, well hopefully until later as I would love to meet them again and ride together.
Total travel for the day: 478kms in 5h30mins
It was a pleasure to have you stay with us, maybe see you in the road sometime in the future.
